Tidy can only look inside your Home folder after you grant access once. Open Tidy, go to Settings → Home folder access, click Grant Access… and confirm the preselected Home folder. Then click Rescan.
Files Tidy removes go to the Trash. Open the Trash, select the item and choose File → Put Back. Simulator erases and simulator runtime removals can't be undone from the Trash; reinstall runtimes from Xcode → Settings → Components.
Tidy follows the Mac App Store's security rules and never asks for your administrator password. Items owned by macOS (such as leftover system simulator caches) and apps in /Applications are shown in Finder so you can remove them yourself.
Simulator runtimes, devices and caches are detected through Xcode's command-line tools. Make sure Xcode is installed in /Applications and has been opened at least once.
Tidy lives in your menu bar and re-checks weekly while it's running. To keep it running after a restart, turn on Settings → Open Tidy when I log in. Automatic cleaning is off unless you turn it on, and it only ever removes SAFE items.
