Tidy does not collect, transmit, or share any data. Everything it scans stays on your Mac.
Tidy is a macOS app that finds caches, build data, simulator files, old installers and other leftovers that take up storage space, and helps you remove them. It works entirely offline: it makes no network requests and contains no third-party SDKs, analytics, advertising or crash-reporting libraries.
We collect no data from you. Specifically:
To find reclaimable space, Tidy reads the sizes and dates of files in a fixed list of locations, such as Xcode's DerivedData and simulator folders, developer tool caches (npm, Homebrew, Gradle and others), app caches, and installers in your Downloads folder. It never reads the contents of your documents.
simctl tool.Tidy keeps its settings and a log of the items you've cleaned (name, size and date) inside its own private container on your Mac. This data never leaves your Mac and is removed when you delete the app.
If you allow notifications, Tidy uses them only to tell you when it finds space worth reclaiming or has finished a scheduled clean. Notifications are generated on your Mac; nothing is sent to a server.
Tidy uses no third-party services, SDKs, or APIs of any kind. All functionality is provided by Apple's built-in frameworks.
Tidy does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
